Hero Ingredients Explained
Squalane: Since squalane is a natural component of sebum in our skin, it strengthens the skin barrier and helps the skin to retain moisture. Squalane has anti-inflammatory properties that can reduce redness and swelling. It is a gentle lightweight ingredient that is perfect for any skin type. Squalane also has brightening effects on the skin assisting with dark spots and pigmentation. It is a lightweight oil that can be used by those with oily or acne-prone skin.
Rosehip: Rich in Vitamin C and anti-oxidants therefore protects the skin from free radicals and assists in lightening dark spots. Contains free fatty acids like linoleic acid which is an essential component of ceramides, the skin’s main moisturizing element.
Marula: Marula oil is rich in linoleic fatty acid, antioxidants and oleic acid, which are essential for the preservation of healthy skin. The oil is easily absorbed into the skin and naturally softens, nourishes and revitalizes.
Kalahari Melon: Kalahari Melon is an excellent source of omega-6 and omega-9 essential fatty acids which stimulates skin cell growth, and it brings the additional benefit of high phytosterol content. It contains anti-oxidants as well as Vitamins A, C and E. It is a lightweight oil that is intensely moisturising and can be used by those with oily or acne-prone skin. The oil can be effective at helping to repair skin damage and scars.
Jojoba: Jojoba oil contains natural forms of vitamin E. This vitamin works with your skin as an antioxidant. This means that jojoba oil can help your skin fight oxidative stress caused by everyday exposure to pollutants and other toxins. Although jojoba oil is a botanical substance, its makeup is so similar to the oil (sebum) your body naturally produces that your skin can’t tell the difference. This makes it less likely to build up on your skin and clog your pores, leading to fewer breakouts and less severe acne. Jojoba oil has anti-inflammatory properties and may help relieve dryness, flaking and itching.
Macadamia Nut Oil: Macadamia oil nourishes the skin and is great at moisturising.
Macadamia oil contains phytosterols which make it effective at reducing inflammation. Along with Omega 3 and Omega 6 fatty acids, Macadamia oil can help with sensitive skin by soothing it. Palmitoleic acid and squalene, found in Macadamia Oil, help with the reduction in skin cell damage. This antioxidant boost helps to banish skin damage from environmental stress and promote healthy skin. Macadamia oil also contains oleic acid, which is excellent for keeping skin supple.

This is my favorite Mbiri product! I have never been a ‘skin care’ person. Love how it makes my skin look and feel moisturized but not too oily. Really couldn’t recommend this product more.
